Skills Marketplace

What is the Skills Marketplace?

The Skills Marketplace is where you can buy and sell skills for your AI assistant within BlockVault. Each skill is an NFT living on the Base blockchain, which guarantees that you truly own the skills you acquire.

Think of Skills as "apps" for your AI agent: they give it new capabilities, from searching the web to running automated tasks.

How does it work?

Creating and selling a Skill

  1. Create your Skill — Write the instructions that define what your skill does, give it a name and a category.
  2. Mint — BlockVault verifies that your Skill is original and registers it as an NFT on the blockchain. A small minting fee in ETH is charged.
  3. List it for sale — From the "My Skills" section, choose how many copies you want to sell, the price per unit, and which currency you want to be paid in (ETH, USDT, or BLVC).

Buying a Skill

  1. Browse the Marketplace — Explore the catalog of available Skills.
  2. Review the details — You can preview a Skill's content before buying.
  3. Purchase — Select the quantity you want, confirm the transaction, and the Skill is automatically downloaded to your device, ready to use with your AI agent.

Fees

  • The buyer pays a 2.5% fee on top of the purchase price.
  • The seller receives the full price with no deductions.
  • Funds from your sales accumulate in the contract and you can withdraw them at any time.

Your Skills

In the My Skills section you can see all the skills you have minted or purchased. From there you can:

  • View the content of any Skill.
  • Sell copies of Skills you have minted.
  • Your AI agent will automatically use the Skills you own.

Note: Minted Skills cannot be edited once registered on the blockchain, to ensure the integrity of what buyers receive.

Duplicate Detection (Vector Similarity)

To protect creators and maintain marketplace quality, BlockVault uses a duplicate detection system based on vector similarity.

How does it work?

When you try to mint a new Skill, the system converts your skill's content into a numerical representation (a "vector") that captures its semantic meaning. It then compares that vector against all already-registered Skills.

If your Skill's content is too similar to an existing one — above 92% similarity — the system will reject it and tell you which Skill it resembles.

Why does this system exist?

  • Protects original creators — No one can copy your work and sell it as their own.
  • Prevents duplicate content — Keeps the marketplace clean and with real variety.
  • Works intelligently — It doesn't just compare literal text: it understands the meaning of the instructions. Changing a few words is not enough to bypass detection.

What if my Skill is rejected?

If you receive a message indicating your Skill is too similar to an existing one, it means a skill that does essentially the same thing already exists. You can:

  1. Buy the existing Skill on the marketplace.
  2. Make your Skill genuinely different: add unique features, change the approach, or combine it with another idea.

Security

  • Your Skills are real NFTs on the Base blockchain — no one can take them from you.
  • Transactions require your explicit signature before executing.
  • The marketplace uses a secure withdrawal pattern for sales funds.
  • Before purchasing, the app verifies you have sufficient balance for both the payment and the gas fee.
